The Renegade Regiment Recap

The Regiment performed this Saturday, September 28th at the Wheaton North Falcon Marching Band Festival. The day began with a very warm and very windy rehearsal to get the group ready to perform and pumped up as we would be competing against some excellent (and larger) groups later on.

After a problem free loading (no truck problems!) and calm bus ride the band had plenty of time to unload, dress and warm-up with plenty of time to spare. On a side note it was very cool sharing a warm-up field with my old high school, Naperville Central High School. The director was a huge personal mentor and had great things to say about the band afterwards!

The Regiment had its best performance to date and everyone came off the field smiling and feeling amazing about the show. We placed 4th out of 5 bands and received Best Colorguard! If you remember, this show had slightly different classes as there were less bands due to homecoming and other show conflicts. We were up against bands like Naperville Central, Wheaton Warrenville South and Wheeling High School who are all twice as big as us. Considering our placement and the Colorguard winning best overall in the class, I think we showed them the high quality of performance that Sandwich is known for.

If you are interested in seeing any of the performances from the day including the Regiment, Wheaton recorded and posted the entire show!

This week the Regiment will be performing at the Homecoming Parade and Football Game. We do not have any shows this weekend due to Homecoming. Enjoy the dance and time off! (but don’t forget to practice….)      =)
